Dresden Clark

LSUDC, MFT Intern

Dresden understands the vital connection between mind and body. She is dedicated to helping clients release stored energy through practices like breathwork, body movement, and yoga.

Dresden Clark is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern at Capella University, with a background in substance use counseling. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Utah State University and a degree in Substance Use Disorders Counseling from The University of Utah, where she became a Licensed Substance Use Counselor.

Dresden is passionate about supporting individuals and families through healing and growth. She is trained in EMDR, a powerful technique for processing trauma and emotional wounds, helping clients move forward with greater emotional strength and resilience. Dresden combines Narrative Therapy and the Gottman Method in her work with individuals and couples. Narrative Therapy empowers clients to reshape their personal stories, fostering hope and personal growth. The Gottman Method, a research-based approach, strengthens relationships by improving communication, conflict resolution, and emotional intimacy. This combined approach provides a holistic path to healing and deeper connection, whether on an individual journey or within a relationship.

Additionally, Dresden incorporates breathing exercises and body movements to support whole-body healing, helping clients release tension, restore balance, and promote well-being. Dresden believes in the power of compassion, trust, and mutual respect within the therapeutic relationship. She is dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve meaningful change and healing.

Outside of her professional life, Dresden enjoys spending time with her husband and three adult children. An avid nature lover, she finds peace and inspiration in the Uinta Mountains, where she enjoys camping and backpacking with her family.

As an intern, Dresden practices under the supervision of Charity Hotton, LMFT, SSW
