Alexis Adelman

CMHC Intern

Enrolled in the Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling Trauma and Crisis Counseling Program.

Alexis Adelman is a Clinical Mental Health Trauma and Crisis Counseling Intern. Alexis’s journey into the field began as a psychology student at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Here she conducted extensive research on behaviors between all ages and became fond of the way they were so different. After working with children in the school system who suffered abuse, she began to realize that working with these children and their families was her passion. Here she received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and decided to continue her education in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling field with a specialization in trauma and crisis.

During her studies she completed her practicum at Lifeline PCS where she was able to fine tune where her passion lies and what type of therapy she wants to conduct. With the implementation of play-therapy, expressive arts, arts, and CBT she is able to work with a wide range of individuals and meet their specific needs. From depression, to anxiety, behavioral issues and beyond, with the use of these few therapies she can help the client find a sense of relief and serenity.

Alexis is currently enrolled in the Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling Trauma and Crisis Counseling Program at Walden University. She is excited to be working as a Mental Health Counselor in order to help her clients find more peace in their lives.

In her spare time Alexis enjoys spending time with her fiancé and step son, riding horses, attending rodeos, playing sports, helping children learn and grow, and enjoying the great outdoors.
