counseling for you and your loved ones
We are an inclusive group, respectful and supportive of diverse client needs. We invite you to schedule a free consultation to see if we may be a great fit for you!
At Sage Family Counseling, we believe that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” Rather than treating symptoms or individuals out of context, we seek to help clients to take a look at their whole selves in connection with the people and experiences that surround them.

The therapy term for this is Systems Theory, but what it means is that everything is connected! If you are struggling with relationship concerns, depression or anxiety, or other difficulties, we can work together to improve what is happening in your body through self-care, in your mind through self-awareness, clarity, and insight, and in your relationships through finding custom patterns of connection and progress that really fit and work for you!
We work with each client, couple, or family to set specific goals and achieve results generally through short term therapy so that you feel on track and ready to move forward on your own.
We have the training, tools and experience to offer our counseling services through secure, online video conferencing. If you are not able to meet with our team in person, let us know and we will set up an online appointment for you.

A group of professionals committed to helping others to find hope, skills, and progress in their lives. Each member of the team is diligent and skilled in our areas of practice.
It varies by provider and individual plans/networks, but we are able to bill to: UMR, United, Optum, BlueCross BlueShield, Regence, Anthem, EMI, PEHP, SelectHealth, and DMBA.
We accept cash, debit cards, credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and ecclesiastical payments. *Payment is due at the time of service.
Yes, we offer telehealth therapy services. We utilize a secure, HIPAA compliant video service. We provide online therapy in Utah and Arizona. Please reach out to our clinic if you live in a different state and we can research the laws in your state.
*If you will be traveling to another state or out of the country and would like to participate in telehealth sessions while you are traveling, this may be possible but it depends on the telehealth laws in each location. We will need to explore the laws and regulations where you will be to see if this is a possibility.
Your therapist will keep your sessions confidential. That means that they will not share your information without your written consent. Some exceptions include situations where you are a danger to yourself or others, or if there is evidence of abuse. We utilize a HIPAA compliant electronic record system where we store your personal documents and therapy notes.
Prior to your first session, you will fill out paperwork in the client portal (a link will be emailed to you). During your first session, your therapist will talk with you about your goals for therapy and will spend time getting to know you. You will discuss the therapy process and ways your therapist can help you to accomplish your goals.

I would recommend Dr. Branden Henline and Sage Family Counseling to anyone. The office staff is friendly, attentive, and follows through. Dr. Henline helped us make incredible progress in our relationship. I am very grateful for everything Sage Family Counseling has done for us.
Thank you for your personalized and PERSONAL care. Your guidance helped us navigate a path through the minefield of mental health concerns. When I didn’t know what to do, you did. Everything is not “all better” but it is better than it was and steadily improving. From the staff to the counselors, everyone I have interacted with has gone above and beyond to provide support to both the patient and family. This creates a comfortable, professional environment and it is clear that people are the priority. Thank you for being there when we needed you. You are forever a part of our story.
The professionals at Sage Family Counseling provided me with the tools, skills, and courage to deal with my anxiety and depression at a time when it was difficult to see a way forward. Specifically, I was taught coping skills to help me stay in the moment, learned to set focused, achievable goals that gave me a path forward, received honest feedback about my successes as well as setbacks, and provided with tools that set me on course to becoming the sort of person I wanted to be. I will always be grateful for the care I received and I highly recommend their counselors and services.
Me and my family’s lives have been amazingly blessed through Dr. Henline’s counsel. I reached out to him (not previously knowing anything about him or his practice) in September of 2018, desperate for a qualified therapist/Dr. who could help me through an extraordinarily difficult time. He saw me through it and I’m forever grateful for his wisdom, advice, and compassion. I’ve referred others to him as well because I know he’s completely qualified and can handle complex, and challenging issues. I’ve continued to meet with him occasionally for problems that arise and continue to leave empowered.
Dr. Henline has had a profound impact on my life. He steadfastly guided me through the process of looking at the issues I needed to resolve and settle in my soul. The resounding conclusion being “It is my life; I need to own it”. Like a great surgeon, Dr. Henline cut away the clutter and helped me focus on the “Now” . . . empowering me with insight, education and understanding to let go of the disabling past and embrace the present with more self-awareness and a determination to be the best me I can be.
