Cyndi Whidden

MFT Intern (Student Therapist)

Cyndi Whidden holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Brigham Young University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Abilene Christian University. She was first introduced to the field while working as the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator at ViewPoint Center, a child and adolescent psychiatric and therapeutic assessment center. That experience sparked a deep interest in mental health and relational healing, ultimately guiding her path toward becoming a therapist.

Now completing her clinical internship as part of her graduate training, Cyndi is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families find more connection understanding, and resilience. She takes a warm, relational approach to therapy, viewing each client within the context of their relationships, cultural background, and life experiences.

Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, relationship stress, trauma, identity development, and life transitions. She is especially committed to creating an affirming and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ clients and those from diverse backgrounds.

Cyndi works under licensed supervision and draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and family systems work. She believes therapy offers a unique opportunity for healing, self-discovery, and meaningful change, and she feels privileged to support clients every step of the way.

In her spare time, Cyndi enjoys taking Pilates classes, teaching hot yoga, and spending time with her husband, two boys, four bonus kids, and two dogs.

As an intern, Cyndi practices under the supervision of Whitney Sanchez, LMFT.
