Aaron Stanger

CMHC Intern (Student Therapist)

Hi, I’m Aaron! I’m an intern Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over five years of experience in the mental health field.

I began my career working with teens in residential treatment who were navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and substance use, and later transitioned to working with adults in residential rehab, focusing on mental health, trauma, and recovery. I earned my bachelor’s degree from UVU in Psychology with an emphasis in Substance Use Disorder Counseling and have completed all coursework for my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand Canyon University.

I’ve truly fallen in love with this field and am passionate about helping people heal. One of my main focuses is working with childhood trauma and understanding how early wounds affect daily relationships with family, friends, and loved ones. My approach blends Brainspotting, CBT, and DBT, while also emphasizing holistic healing—bringing in physical health, nutrition, and relational work. I believe real change comes from addressing both trauma and everyday life patterns, and I love guiding clients toward resilience, clarity, and a more fulfilling life.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy playing sports, challenging myself in chess, and most of all, being with my wife and family. I’ve witnessed profound healing in my own life and in the lives of my clients, and I believe everyone deserves the chance to create the life they’ve always dreamed of.

As an intern, I practice under the supervision of Branden Henline, LMFT.
