Amy helps individuals, couples, and families navigate the messy and meaningful parts of life with greater authenticity, connection, and understanding.
Amy Fielding is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern completing her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University. She brings more than 20 years of experience in business leadership, conflict resolution, and relationship-building, along with experience as a Clinical Hypnotherapist supporting clients with anxiety, trauma, addiction, grief, chronic stress, and relational concerns.
Amy takes a warm, collaborative, and strengths-based approach to therapy. She especially enjoys helping couples feel closer, communicate in healthier ways, rebuild trust, and reconnect when they feel distant or stuck. She also works with individuals and families who want to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and create meaningful change.
Her work is influenced by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), attachment-based approaches, and the Gottman Method. Amy believes therapy should be a place where clients can show up as they are, explore their values and identity, and develop a stronger sense of what feels authentic and meaningful to them. She is particularly committed to providing LGBTQIA+ affirming care and creating an environment where clients feel seen, understood, and accepted.
As Brené Brown reminds us, “True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are, it requires you to be who you are.” Amy strives to bring that spirit of belonging into the therapy room while helping clients build deeper connection with themselves and the people who matter most to them.
When she’s not in the therapy room, Amy enjoys spending time with her blended family, being in the mountains, facilitating group breathwork and sound bath sessions, and getting a little too invested in cloud-watching and identifying oddly specific animals and objects that no one else seems to see. She is also the founder of a nonprofit organization that supports single mothers and their children during times of hardship.
As an intern, Amy practices under the supervision of Cristina Leslie, LMFT.
